Thengai Podi is typically added to rice after it has been flavoured with a splash of til (sesame/gingelly) oil or a dollop of ghee. For a stronger flavour it can be added directly to hot rice with no oil or ghee. 

With the simple addition of a poriyal (stir fried green vegetable) and sutta applam (roasted papad) you can dish up a flavour-filled, nutritious meal on a busy day.
